I heard that the last two numbers in your drivers license number is how many people there are that have the same name as you in your state. Like, if my name was John Smith and there were 34 of them in Wisconsin, the last two numbers of my license number would be 34. Is this true?

There are only 2 people in the whole world with my name and the last 2 numbers are 09 on my Wisconsin license. I've done a search and I know that for a fact.

The last two digits represent the overflow of people who have the same number driver's license as you. When you received your license, there were 34 other individuals who had the same number as you. To distinguish, they added the last section to number those with the same letter and first 3 set of numbers.

If you drive without a valid licence and get caught you are likely to lose any chance of adjusting status and could be deported. Since you can't prove your status you may lose your licence until you get your green card. If you have an NOA1 from USCIS that says your AOS is being processed they might accept that. If they don't you better get used to walking for a while. AOS needn't take a year, it only took me 5 months.
