Yes cortisol has a lot to do with belly fat. Cortisol is caused from the stress response. When you get stressed out, it rises. It is a defense mechanism our body has. Youve heard of an adrenaline rush? A more mild form of an adrenaline rush occurs when we are stressed, and cortisol is released to protect our body's cells from the other stress hormones like epinephrine and norepinephrine (the hormones that initiate the "fight or flight" response). Cortisol is useful for this reason. But too much decreases our immune system, and makes us more susceptible to illness. And, it also causes fat to accumulate on our abdomen. There are lots of commercials for drugs that help people lose weight, but they are not approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and therefore, I don't personally think they are safe. For example, sometimes people can have increase cortisol levels due to a problem with the adrenal gland (the gland that releases cortisol) The adrenal gland is supposed to have a cycle that releases high levels of hormones in the morning, that taper off throughout the day, and are virtually gone at night. But some people have a constant level of hormones being released evenly throughout the day. So in essence, they dont have enough cortisol at the right times and therein lies the problem. The drugs that stop cortisol, act by decreasing the hormones. This is problematic in the situation I just mentioned because the persons weight gain is occuring because they don't have enough hormones. Taking a drug to decrease the already too low cortisol will make the situation worse. I hope this makes sense. This is how it was explained to me. I really don't recommend taking those drugs. Try to reduce your stress level by meditating or doing yoga. Eat healthy and exercise. This will decrease your cortisol. You could also have your adrenal gland function tested to see if it is releasing hormones in the right amounts throughout the day.

Exercise or no exercise you won't be able to lose the weight if you don't cut your food intake but we all know that's pretty hard, right? A good appetite suppressant can help you out big time but it has to be natural or you can get into serious heath problems.

I lost 38 lbs in 2 months by using garcinia cambogia extract (FDA approved 100% natural). In my first month 26 and then 12 the second month. I was an emotional eater and these supplements changed my life. They act like an appetite suppressant so I didn't feel like eating anymore. Not hungry anymore -> Lower calories -> Lose weight, simple as that. I did no exercises just 20 minutes walks 5 days a week.

It's been 4 months since I lost the weight and I did not gain any pounds back, actually I lost another 5 lbs (I stop taking them after I lost the weight). If you want to take a look here is a website where you can find discounts: http://www.garciniacambogiapromo.com I got them 30% off from here. Hope this helps!

The commercials about supplements that decrease cortisol is a scam. Yes, increased cortisol will increase belly fat. But the fact is that cortisol is VITAL to health and anything that claims to reduce it (if it could) could kill a person who's pituitary or adrenals is malfunctioning and cannot produce enough. So, since we haven't heard of any deaths from taking these products it must not work. If you have too much bellyfat you should have your cortisol levels checked first by a Dr. (simple bloodtest) and if they are normal, then this is not the issue for you.
