Yes, Kendo is a sport with points and ranking systems. In Japan they have teams in schools that compete in Kendo the way some schools have soccer (football) teams or swim teams.

Kenjitsu and Iado are more combat arts then sport.

Well, if you consider, Kendo, a sword art then yes. Iaido (the art of drawing the sword) and Kenjutsu (live blade practice) on the other hand are more considered disciplines. And if you consider open martial arts tournaments where practitioners demo their respective disciplines, for judges to evaluate, (kata, weapons demos) and so on, then yes these too would be considered a sport.

many people consider martial arts sports... it depends on the philosophy some consider themselfs sports some consider themselves much more
a few sport arts-bjj tkd some types of karate, kendo(a sword art)
