Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsch was a very good philosopher. Anyway when he said God is dead he didn't mean that God was dead in a physical way. He meant that the need for God is pretty much dead as many people are more and more capapble of thinking for themselves. And that the need fopr god is no longer necessary as a use for moral code.

Jesus isn't nearly as interested in rhetoric as Nietzsche was.
Nietzsche is dead. Jesus lives!

Well, if I had to really compare them, I would compare Jesus to Socrates. They are more comprable to each other.
Given the two you specified, I would go with Nietsche as well.
And, to the above answer, Jesus was a philosopher. To those of us who do not believe in his divinity, but ackowledge he lived, he is nothing more than a philosopher.
And, even if you believe in his divinity, he was a philosopher as well. Theoretically, I would say a person can be the "messiah" and a philosopher at the same time. It's kind of like walking and chewing gum.

So could a person quote Nietzsche? Is that not rhetoric as well?
Jesus was the best philosopher. More people quote Jesus, than Nietzsche. Honestly, how many people quote Nietzsche?
"God is dead." -Nietzsche
"Nietzsche is dead." -God
No, God is not dead, nor will He ever be.

You say no scriptures and quote Nietzsche. How hypocritical. Talk is cheap and if you ever did anything because someone said something catchy then more power to you.

yeah, yeah, yeah...'that which doesn't kill me, makes me quote nietzche...'...philosophers are a dime a dozen...Christ was, and is, far more than a simple philosopher...Christ's teachings, works, and ministry changed the world
