Using meds alters neither the stress nor teaches you how to handle it . Meds for stress are the track to becoming an addict.
Identify your stress and learn to reduce it or learn to manage it . Unless you have a terminal illness and will be dead in 6 months anyway . . . because your life on meds for stress will end up nastier than death.

TRY THE FOLLOWING
1)Yoga
2)Bach's rescue remedy
3)Talking to your family and friends about your problems can generally help you fix the stress or at least reduce it.
4)get massages
the more you keep inside your body the more stress you will inflict upon it...my advise it...talk about your problems, eat well, sleep well and try some of the above!
