If you are spending 5+ hours per day on the computer, when are you running track? When are you doing homework? When are you interacting with friends? When are you spending time with family?
It sounds to me like your father believes the PS2 is taking over your life. I would talk to him and ask him to make a compromise...you will spend at least 1-2 hours/day with the family, eating dinner, watching TV, etc., and will only play on the PS2 a couple of hours/day on the weekends. The thing is, if the PS2 becomes your life, it will be a fantasy life. The PS2 should be a place to escape to, not a place to live. Talk to him. After all, he gave it to you, didn't he? I'm sure he will accept a reasonable compromise...and if you show him he can trust you with this, he'll give you a whole lot more in the coming 2-3 years...

Maybe he feels like your addicted to your game. He probably feels like you need to be more active around the house. When you play are you stuck to the t.v and don't move for hours at a time except to use the bathroom? If yes, that not good. When you play try to get up every couple of minutes and ask if there is anything to be done if your needed then go back in your zone.

He probly just wants you to do more constructive things with your time. But yes I do think hes being unfair. As long as you get your work done, are doing well in school, and are active (extracurricular activities) then I dont see a problem with you using your free time to do something you enjoy. He should be happy you arent using your free time to do bad things like getting drunk or high or something illegal. Playing video games is harmless.

All you do when you get home is play video games or PS2? Get real, I think your Dad has a great idea. Read a book, ride a bike, play a real old-fashioned game with your sibs. There is so much more to life...go out there and find it.

One day you will realize that there are much worse things to worry about than your PS2. Have you thought about getting a job? You are 16 years old, and in 2 years you become an adult. It's not going to be as easy as you think.

Your dad took it away for your own good. Socialize with other kids and stop living through your video games. Playing for 5 hours is ridiculous. Get out and socialize. Your mind will turn to mush if the only interaction you get is on video games.

Good! He should have. He is the parent.
You don't need to spend 5 hours a day playing a stupid game. Do something useful or educational.

you could sue him in case you opt for to spend a bunch of money to get a lecture from the decide telling you what your dad already advised you. once you stay on your individual position, paying your individual charges, procuring your individual nutrition, etc., then you fairly'll understand. he's purely attempting that could also help you. you'd be homeless before the second one month when you bypass out in case you won't be able to study what comes first.

From the grammar and punctuation of your rant, you need to spend a lot more time on your studies. Perhaps that's what your dad is trying to get across.

I'm sorry, but you do play too much. Even if you get everything done, you are putting all your eggs in one basket so to speak. Get out and develop all your abilities.
