Born, raised, and still living right outside of DC (that's what us locals call "Washington, DC"). Not a bad town really. I recommend going out for food and drinks in Georgetown, there's lots to do down there just about any night of the week. Also, try Adam's Morgan for nightlife. Avoid going ANYWHERE in Southeast! Be careful with cabbies, don't let them rip you off. You're best bet for navigating the city is to take the Metro. It's reall easy to navigate, but be careful around rush hour and at night on the weekends.

If the city starts to bore you, you're not far from Annapolis, Alexandria or Baltimore....all great towns.

Enjoy!

There are so many things to do in San Diego depending on your interests from water activities, hiking, biking, kayaking, bay cruises, beach volleyball to professional sports and theater. Check out, http://www.sandiego-romantics.com

Santa Clara is not far from San Francisco, If you are that close I would try to spend some time in San Francisco. Again, what you do depends on your interests. There are museums, theater, shopping, and great restaurants. It's fun to ride the ferry from the downtown ferry building over to Sausilito or walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. Don't forget riding a cable car.

i became born in D.C. lived there until age 5 and grew up interior the metro section, I surely have seen each and every thing there is, the only time i actually do something vacationer-y is whilst kin is composed of city. San Diego may well be cool to stay there for a quick time, yet i think of i might pass over winter climate after a whilst.

In Washington, the National Mall is a walkway that connects the White House, Congress, Lincoln Memorial, and Washington Monument.

Take walking shoes to Washington, DC. When I went there, I walked *a lot*. Comfort over fashion in DC - the locals don't dress very well anyway...
