My husband's Godmother has sent us an invitation to an Eastern Star function- a luncheon of some sort to do with new positions or something. What would be appropriate dress?

Check with your husband's Godmother on this one, but women who belong to the Order of the Eastern Star have special gowns that they wear for investitures etc. If it is an afternoon luncheon, afternoon wear would be appropriate. ie. dressy, but not formal or full length gowns.

Being it is a day thing wear light colors. Something like a pants suit or suit with a skirt and a nice blouse so that if you feel to dressed up with the jacket you can take it off and still be appropriate. Or being it is a Godmother, she should be like family, feel free to ask her what you should wear or what is she going to wear. That way you can have an idea of how casual or formal to dress.

For a luncheon, a pants suit would work well. You could also wear a wrap dress or similar daytime dress (like you would wear to an office)

Wear what you would normally wear to a church service (not a casual church service). Dress or nice shirt and skirt, hose and dress pumps (not stilettos)

If you're trying new positions I would choose the least complicated clothes you have. Skin to win is always a good choice. Make sure your hubby wears something to accentuate the cod region.

Its church related so conservative is best.
Dress with hihg neckline, sleeves, and below the knee. Stay away from loud colors (yellow, red, bright green, etc)
