It was bad when I opened it, and I couldn't cook it because the smell made me sick, so I just put Press & Seal on the bowl (I was going to fix sausage balls) tightly and put it in the fridge.

As mentioned, you can just throw it out. If you are worried about the odor eminating from your garbage reciptical for a week, freeze it in a zip lock bag until trash day. Throw it out when you set your garbage out for pick up.

If uncooked sausage has gone bad, there is no way to fix it and get it better. Just dump it in the trash. If you try to cook it and eat it, it can make you sick either with vomiting or diarrhea or both.

I think you are talking about the smell right? I agree with the one that says freeze until trash day! Just dont forget it then and make sure it is well sealed in the freezer or it will funk it up!

Toss the whole thing out- press and seal and all. Even if it's in a plastic container, you may not get all the bacteria out of it and you really don't want to chance it.
