I would recommend ordering some trays from your local grocery store, wholesale market, or catering company that can provide nice trays for you. Here are some ideas you might consider for your menu:
-chicken, tuna, and ham salad finger sandwhiches
-meatballs
-shrimp and crabmeat delights
-chicken salad pastry swans
-roast beef rollups
-fresh fruit trays
-assorted cheeses and crackers
-heart-shaped strawberry cheese balls
-miniature tropical fruit skewers
-raspberry pastry puffs
-relish trays
-vegetable trays
-marinated vegetables
-salmon-stuffed zucchini boats

If you don't want to hire a caterer, you can easily prepare some appetizers that most people will enjoy. Shrimp cocktail is easy, also cheese and crackers, spinach/artichoke dip, raw veggies with dip, swedish meatballs, bruschetta, spring rolls and maybe you can have a nice fruit salad placed inside a hollowed out watermelon.

"finger foods" are relatively inexpensive, in general. I would hire a caterer and give them your budget and then see what they say. I won't make them myself, that seem a little more informal then classy.

Consult a few caterers and give them your estimated budget and inquire about their hors'doeurves menu (light, medium, and heavy). Be sure to give them your estimated guest count.
