There is a legal battle right now betweem Samuel Peter and Vitali Klitschko.
Vitali, being the former WBC champion but retired has somewhat of a right to fight immediately for his former title, is making his comeback and has offered Peter's camp $2.5 million to step aside and let him fight Maskaev first. And if Vitali Klitschko were to beat Maskaev, Peter would get his chance versus Vitali and there would be a 50/50 purse split.

However, Peter's camp rejected that offer. Peter beat James Toney twice for the right to fight Maskaev for the title. and because of this, he has somewhat of a right to fight for the title (in my opinion he deserves it). Peter has also paid the WBC over $100,000 in sanctioning fees to fight in the two eliminators versus Toney

The WBC has told the two camps to try and work it out and if they cant to go to court. Seems like they are heading to court to decide it.

Maskaev seems to want to fight Vitali Klitschko. He will probably lose to either guy, this way he can make a little More money

Blogbaba hasn't heard much, I know Peters and Klitschko both wanted the shot, and there was some public arguing about who Maskiev should fight first.

If anyone deserves a couple of soft money fights, it's Olev, I wouldn't hurry into a fight with a heavy hitter if I was in Maskiev's corner.
