your stylist will be able to help you the best because they can analyze your hair. if you go to a beauty school, the price will be pretty reasonable. at my school it would be around $40, at a salon it would be anywhere from $60-$120 depending on where you live. cosmetology schools are great because there is always an instructor around to guide the students. i personally know of some really great red colors made by matrix called redlights, another great product is magma by wella, and redkin gels make some great reds too. call around and ask what colors salons use, and get a few price quotes
