Why Pro-Illegal People Support Illegal Immigration
1) They're naive, they haven't developed the ability to "critically think" for themselves and just parrot whatever they see on TV.
2) They live in a safe gated community, far from the flood of illegal aliens or only see a few in their neighborhood. They do not know the true effects of what's happening in the streets.
3) They're too dam lazy to mow their own lawn or do their own dishes.
4) They work for big business and will sell out their fellow Americans just to make an extra buck. They lack ethics.
5) They naively believe the pro-illegal views of the media and Hollywood which is owned and lobbied by big business.
6) They naively believe the pro-illegal views pushed by Churches that are interested in getting more warm bodies in the pews and more donations in the donation dish.

It is obvious that there are people on this board who truly don't understand the future problems ahead due to "open borders", the war and so on.
I have my own business, but I don't employ illegal workers. I'd rather have a hard working american citizen make a fair wage and support his/her family than pay someone who broke the law and continues to break the law everyday they are here in order to fatten my pockets. And to answer someones post illegals do get SS benefits. If you steal someones social, that means your paying into the system and therefore you will reap those benefits. Bush has a bill to offer illegals SS benefits after 18 months of being here. But the american citizen still has to wait 10 years. And the taxes (if paid) are optional. They have a number to use and report, but its optional.
We need to face the fact that politicians are going to give illegal workers/people amnesty. I assure you the guest worker program will not work. But it will back fire on the corporations and politicians. Once they grant citizenship to those that are here illegally, those same people will in turn demand rights and better wages. I say corps. because with them its all about making a profit, and the politicians its about that extra 12-20 million votes. At this time illegals can't vote on the federal level, but they can at the state level. So you have to wonder why the Dems are pushing to get the immigration problem solved quickly. Votes for the upcoming election.
It doesn't matter that our schools, hospitals, state funds are being used by people who have no right to those benefits. We are headed to a third world country status. Miami is already there to a degree.
I'm thinking about my childrens future and my grandchildrens future. Will there even be enough resources for them. Has anyone ever thought that an additional 12-20 million can put a strain on the oil and gas industry. And that could be a reason for such high levels of gasoline consumption.
I have a heart for people, but this is a problem that will not be solved with a fence, comprehensive immigration, or any other bills they create. The laws that are in place needs to be enforced against anyone that enters this country illegally.
Sadly, the only people benefiting from this illegal invasion are the politicians, corporations, employers, home country (sent over $20 billion dollars back to their countries last year), financial sector (banking/wiring companies), and of course the illegal worker.
Why have laws if we aren't going to enforce them? And thats with any crime. America wake up, because its almost too late.

The only supporters that I see that are "pro-illegal" are those that stand to make money off of them.
There are also the lazy that want to hire them to do jobs at lower than the going rate - which really is no different than the large company that is doing the same thing - making money off o them.
Not to forget the illegals. Because of lack of basic understanding of just what is being done, they really very well may not realize that they are turning a country into something that will be no better than what they left. That is why American citizens need to start demanding enforcement of the immigration laws and deportation of them when they are found. It has been done before and needs to be done again by the United States government. If not that - lets start using the same immigration laws and enforcement of Mexico within the United States.

I agree with you completely. One of the reasons for screened immigration is to ensure that we receive immigrants who will not be sucking the social services, but instead be net contributing members of our society.
Kayp said it all so very well! Thank you Kayp for being a businessperson who refuses to hire illegals! It there were more employers like you, the illegals would soon head back home on their own steam and we wouldn't even have to think about deportations.

As with any group of numbers, we will factor out to the lowest common denominator. Limited immigration allows time to assimilate and adapt to the new country. When hoards of people just migrate with no controls in place for proper housing, jobs, schools and hospitals, they overload all of the systems and by their very numbers, make the same conditions that they try to get away from. For people who think that 8 or 9 children is a nice family, but can't support them, just pull everyone else down to their lower level of living standards. Best wishes

They only want to see the Rosy picture. They don't seem to realize that when more money comes out of something than is put into it, one goes broke. The citizens pay taxes, but the illegal immigrants come here and use our government funded programs and systems, and don't pay a dime into them. How does one think that is "noble"?
PS - Luis: Lennon wrote that song with an IDEAL in mind. It is an ideal that is never going to be true because there would be no way the world would survive. Too many ideals in the world, and every culture is unique. Combining them all will destroy all of the character of each. It's a wonderful dream, but let's live in reality.
Besides, IT'S A SONG!!!!!!!!!!!! Shall we go on the ideal of the song "The wheels on the Bus"?

Building a wall will only slightly slow the problem. Doing status background checks will reverse the flow. It's time to say no to business using cheap illegal labor. It's time we let our polititians know that votes put them in office, not bribes. Let's get tough with those making big bucks off illegals. The list goes right up to the largest U.S. corporations.

most don't care because they have cheap labor and their profits are through the roof. It makes me sick since I am in the construction field and they can pay 3 guys that cant speak our language what they would pay me to do a job. George Carlin said it best if they want to come here illegally when they cross the border hand them a machinr gun and send them to Iraq for 2 years if they live then they get citizenship.

Why not talk about open borders, and security. Yes, all one has to do is visit a border state to know what, uncontroled illegal immigration is doing. But in todays world, we have got to know who is coming in and why, we must keep in mind that all of them are NOT just here for a better life.
