Christianity disapproves of drinking alcohol not ban. Man has free choice to do whatever he pleases even though its detrimental to his/her health. Leviticus 10:9 is an instruction from God to stay away from wine and strong drink. That word stands true today and we are to in all ways honor God.

Islam
Mormonism
Seventh-Day-Adventism
Jehovah's Witnesses
Buddhism (Intoxicants are banned according to the Gautama's Five Precepts, but the concept of "sin" and "banning" isn't really a Buddhist one.)

Why we hate ppl who love excessive amount of Alcohol?
Why ppl heavily prone to alcohol are usually druggies and thieves?

Its scientifically proven that its hell for your heath.

Thats the reason its discouraged in Islam.
