I don't think so necessarily because God knows that it's not that easy to be in the military and not kill an insurgent if you are in that situation. I'm not sure how he would handle that but I don't think you would automatically go to hell. I'm in the Army myself and I haven't been to Iraq yet and I hope I never have to go and kill anybody.

That depends. By killing the insurgent, would a person in the military be serving their country, and quite possibly be protecting others? I say yes, so no, they wouldn't go to hell.
The Bible says "Thou shalt not MURDER." Two completely different things.
But really, only God is the judge of that.

Not necessarily. If you killed the insurgent and you had not accepted Christ as your personal Savior, you would go to hell.

If you did seriously accept Christ's sacrifice for you on the cross then you satisfied the requirement for heaven and you were going to heaven whether you killed the insurgent or not.

Hopefully, since I actually studied in school, I would never construct a sentence like that: "If you "was" in the military..."

Now - here's some advanced reading for you. It's in English - so read slowly:

No, because there were many war stories recorded in the bible and God understands that one must defend themselves.
