Personally, I have found that asking around and finding where other tattooed people work is a good way to let you know locally where your best bets are. Most warehouses in my area are cool with, but I have found that family owned businesses are usually pretty lax on the whole modification situation. Me, I have to cover up when a candidate or client comes into my office, but at the tattoo shop, anything goes. My bf is completely sleeved with skulls, and he currently works in a warehouse, but he is in school for networking, and he is nervous about what prospective employers will think of his ink, since it reaches all the way down the back of his hand.

Well, if you keep them covered you should be able to get a job anywhere. But there are few places that allow for visible piercings and tattoos.
You could always get a job in a tattoo parlor, or a mom and pop type pizza place might let you get away with it and usually non chain record stores are pretty good places to check. Find a job where you don't have to deal with the public (office work, stock clerk for stores, etc)
If all your searches come up empty, you'll have to hide the tats, take out the piercings and try elsewhere. Good luck.

Most places don't want them visible. I am planning on strategic placement myself. Corporate America is starting to loosen up about tattoos & piercings. I would suggest that you investigate any companies you are interested in on-line. Most companies have employee hand books and tons of other information on-line. I am sorry that I can't give you the name of a specific company, just a push in the right direction. Good luck & God bless!

Some universities - the University of Califonia system, for example, is not legally allowed to discriminate against you for your appearance. Both staff and faculty should be options, depending on your skillset. You need a masters degree or phd to lecture or research, though. Staffers need whatever the job calls for.
Also, at least west coast high tech. Brains matter. Unusual appearance may even help - creative minds, energy of youth, etc. A friend of mine at Google, one of the more brilliant engineers I know of, has some impressive ink.
And if you're a *NIX administrator or developer, check out UCSC's job site. We need smart people.

There's alot of them around, surprisingly. I work at a library as a technical assistant. I also had a second job at Borders for the holidays. Neither job have I ever had to cover my forearm tattoos or take out my labret. Hell, at the library, I've gone through mini braids in my hair for months...bright shades of reds, blues, and purples in my hair...had 4 piercings in each ear at one point. *shrugs* And I get to work with books! What more can a gal like me ask for?

I suggest always taking your gear out of your nose, tongue, or wherever it is visible. Ear lobes should be kept down to 1 set of gear, if your a guy take the ear gear out for an interview. Tattoos always cover up. If you do land the job, pay attention to the environment and what is acceptable for the protocol of the office.

Gym, USPS, UPS, Barbershop, Record store, I don't think Bill Gates would hire you with a tattoo on your neck..but most are not really exposed unless you have them on both arms.
Bartender, College Professor.. I'm sure some restaurants dont' care for them.

In the place I work. Unless you were a slacker. I make fat cash. And I get to tell a bunch of untattooed people what to do all day. Good times. In fact the guy that changed the oil in my car the other day, did not have a single tat.

depends on where you are tattooed and pierced. most "professional" or "office" jobs will require you to at least cover them up and use retainers on the piercings. i know even starbucks makes their workers wear bandaids over their facial piercings.

More or less jobs that require you to have a unique look, i.e. clubs, certain clothing stores, salons (depending on the mood and clientele), music stores.
If they are concealable, you should be able to get a job anywhere.
