Today I went to my Grandfather's funeral. I haven't been feeling good since. I have been very nervous and have been thinking about death and scaring myself into panic attacks. I just keep seeing the casket and him lying there in my head. Is there anything I can do to make myself feel better?

I am sorry for your loss. I am a therapist and treat this regularly.

1) Go to a healthfood store and get the Bach Flower Essence, Mimulus. It's for fear (of death and other issues). Take 4 drops under tongue when you feel nervous. It is all natural, and you can't overdose on it. It will not interfere with prescriptions either.

2) Find a grief counsellor and talk through your fear. What you are experiencing is totally understandable and normal.

3) Breathe. Say to yourself, "I am healthy and strong, and I accept it now."

Hang in there! This shall pass.

See a doctor, who may prescribe medication to help you get over this bad patch you are going through, but don't come to rely on them, counselling may help. As medication can take a while to take full effect, practice for 20 mins. daily, one of the techniques at: http://www.relax7.com/7.php and in the blogs of Shan Eris at www.myspace.com where there is also a section on panic attacks. i am so sorry for your loss!sometimes you can go to the hospital and they can give you some medicine to help you during this!my family members have had to do this before!the one thing you need to remember is that your grandfather is in a far better place than we are right now and that he wouldnt want you to keep suffering over him.and try to stop thinking of the funeral because that was only his earthly body ,he wasnt in it any more!i hope this help!GOD BLESS you in your time of need!
