break ups and new boyfriend?

me and my ex broke up on manday and now there is a dance next week. i really want to go with friends and ask one of my guy friends to dance but now there is a problem my ex (he boke up with me) is going to ask me to slow dance (his friends , my friends to, told me) i really want to dance with this new guy but what happends if i am shut down and my ex comes to me in my week time? help advise?
