it cant...thats what makes them stupid.
now i say stupid for a reason. not just to be insulting.
obviously people know that translations always lose information. hence the term "lost in translation"
since the bible was translated from hebrew to english...things were lost in translation. example: god wasnt born of a virgin, he was born of a "young girl"
if you read it in the original text and translate it using the lexicon of the times...its young girl. the difference between a young girl and an older girl usually being that one was considered a "young" girl if they were stil la virgin.
obviously if youve had a sexual experience you were considered "EXPERIENCED" and no longer young. with sex comes maturity. duh.
so there are many things in the bible that are mistranlated.
knowing this people still go around claiming that the interpretation is absolute fact. these people are the ones i call STUPID> because they havent done any research, they dont understand what they beleive. all they do is regurgitate what theyve been taught.
and there, if you can see it....is a big problem.
wanna fix it? educate your fellow followers. cause theyre in dire need of it.
you know theres something wrong with your fellow beleivers i the nonbeleivers (atheists usually) are the ones informing them of what theyre supposed to beleive.
i do it every day.

The answer is simple the Bible can be read in the original language so there is a fixed and dependable script that can be referred to and translating from one language to another creates room for error. Also the languages are dead languages and the meaning of the words are fixed and permanent. One example is the word "bed" and the word for "staff" (big stick) are spelled the same in Hebrew and Genesis 47 the original text translates leaned on his bed or staff? More modern translations say leaned or bowed on his bed but it could have well meant leaned on his staff. I feel it would make more sense from a theological point of view as the Staff can be a type of the Holy Spirit as man is supposed to lean on God for support or Man is supported by Gods grace. Translation errors are rather small and can not alter the truth of God's provision for mankind's salvation.
The Koran is full of contradictions and everyone keeps their mouth shut because Islams might be offended and they KILL. not forgive. Mohammad was a mad dog, megalomaniac, killer, rapist, robber and liar but no one ever complains. Why don't you ask questions about him. I know you don't want to get killed. But you aren't worried about eternal damnation so you attack the Bible believers with the same trite questions liberals have been repeating like a mantra since the 1800s or longer.

The KJV is a very good translation. The bible scholor will go back to the origional greek oe Hebrew to check on a word that doesnt sound exactly right. All the main points are correct, the meaning is not altered much. I feel perfectly fine with the KJV, but sometimes check other translations to compair.

The Bible is not very often mis TRANSLATED, the Dead Sea Scrolls in Qumran showed us that.
The problem is in the EYE of the beholder. It's the person you can't trust, not the text.
PEOPLE read into it and try to make it say things that it doesn't say. Anyone can take a Biblical Greek class and be able to read the text in its original language.
What happens is that people take one verse out of one chapter of one book, then take another verse out of a different chapter in a different book.
Then they put them together and try to say that "the Bible says this" or " the Bible says that". If you go back and read the whole chapter that the verse came out of, and you understand who wrote it and what culture it was written to, there is NO problem understanding the Bible.
It's the people not the text.

The Bible is called the Living Word for a reason. The Bible is Spiritually breathed, it was Spiritually written, and to get the proper interpretation, you need the Spirit of the Author. And He tells us how to get it in Acts 2:38.

this scripture is describing the cost of being a disciple, jesus is telling them god comes first, this goes along with the commandment Thou shalt have no other god before me. We as christians HAVE to put god first, even before our family, and in return God will bestow upon us his love, which is the greatest love anyone could every experience. The reason why you do not understand this scripture, is because you do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ and the holy ghost. The holy ghost helps us to understand scriptures, and apply to our own lives. It says in Mark 4:24-29 "take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you THAT HEAR shall more be given" you can only understand the scriptures that meet your understanding/faith/level of christianity. but when you do not have a relationship with jesus christ you cannot begin to understand the true meaning of the scriptures, that is why you do not understand what the scripture above is saying, and falsely accuse christians of something that isnt true. you know, i wouldnt have taken the time to look up this scripture for you to hear, or write as much as i am if i did not care about you hearing the truth. you are in my prayers.

Baby, it's a spiritual quest.You ask God,the Lord for wisdom.
Ask and you shall recieve.Seek and you shall find.Read your Bible.Ask the Holy Spirit into your heart,Jesus,pray in the name of Jesus.Show me the truth.You need to give it a chance not let other people distact your beliefs.Ask God to lead you in the way He would have you to go.Then get ready because you will see answers flood your way.God is real ,he is still there for us all.

Hate did not mean to bear ill will, but to choose Christ over all others.
Personal discipleship and commitment to Jesus means to understand and accept forsaking all selfish personal ambition.
The best thing for YOU to do is to actually learn Greek and Hebrew and read the original scriptures, then you can have the right to ask these questions. Right now you are just making a fool out of yourself with all these nonsensical questions.

Most "Mistranslations" are not on very important issues.
When in doubt look it up in a concordance and Greek/Jewish dictionary, like Strong's.
Even better, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.

We have the original texts. lol. If anyone really believes that it's "mistranslated", they should just translate it for themselves.
By the way, this person's response to that question was on the money:
