health care system? You must mean Canadian Health care system. There is no health care system in USA. I havent seen a Doc in years because of the costs!!!! Yes i would say it HAS ALREADY FAILED

Uhm, yes..
It's more like "Do you think the health care system is failing mental health"?
The mind and body are one. Diseases and disorders of the brain are being more understood all the time in the sense of the physiological mechanisms that cause them.....but society on the whole and even medical professionals still treat psychiatric diagnoses like the redheaded stepchild of diseases. The stigma persists and is evident in research funding and resources available. Frotunately many communities have grass roots type organizations like NAMI (nat'l alliance for mental illness).

It's not so much the system, rather the technology does not exist to cure mental health abnormalities.

i think there is doctors out there that care, and there is some that just want to say that u are crazy. i for one think the moment i went in i thought that they could not help me...
