I remember finding out that I was pregnant a few weeks before my husband's birthday. When we all sang "happy birthday" we said "happy birthday dear daddy" and he freaked out. That's how I did it. When I got pregnant with our second child, I just asked the doctor phone our house to leave a message telling us whether I was pregnant or not, whent the due date was, etc. I had my husband listen to the answering machine.

Ahh there's some good replies here.i wish I'd done something special when I told my partner.
Here's my story anyway.......
We'd been trying for 2 years, I have PCOS and things weren't going well. I started getting down every time I had a period and most of the time I was late so I would get my hopes up but nothing was happening.
I decided to go back on the pill in the end, just for a year to take my mind off things. My partner and I went on holiday and when we came back I was waiting for my period so I could start taking the pill and nothing happened, nothing new as I was always late. Anyway I took the usual precautionary pregnancy test and it came back positive, I ran into the kitchen and showed my partner, I thought he was going to cry. I didn't really believe it so I downed a load of water and took another one, which again came back positive, I still didn't believe it and went and got 4 more the next day (after a restless nights sleep), they were positive too and then I went to the GP.
I'm now 30 weeks and having a little girl, we're calling her Ellie.

Nothing nice or unusual, pretty boring actually. I had missed a period, which was strange cause I was on the pill. He knew when my periods came, and he asked me if I was bleeding or not (because he noticed there wasn't a tampon box). We didn't really talk about it, but I know that he knew what could be up. A few weeks later, I started throwing up, and the next week my next period was supposed to come, and it didn't, so we bought a dollar store test. It was positive, so we ran out and bought three name brand ones just to be sure!

My husband was on a conference call with work and I came out of the bathroom with the test. We spent the next hour or so (he was still on the call) writing notes back and forth. I'd like to know why people who aren't pregnant or never have been are bothering to answer this question. Are you that desperate for points?

i done a test in a public toilet on my way to work i read the result as i got into my work, i didn't tell my partner i was going to test so i rang him up just said i have something to tell you, he said what? i said im pregnant he thought i was joking he was really pleased wanted to tell the kids straight away.
the best part of it is i rang my mam after i had phoned my partner she didnt believe me at all i had to get a work mate to tell her, she was pleased but shocked, my own fault cause i have joked with her many times saying i was pregnant then saying na im only joking!

I told my husband the 1st time when we went out to dinner that night. Unfortunately I ruined Chik-fil-a for him. Just kidding. With my daughter, I just left the prenatals on the counter... He figured it out REAL quick.lol
