I guess that depends .. on the things we'd already discovered that we had in common. But, assuming it was someone who shared this in common then I would plan a date to include dinner at a nice Fondue restaraunt, candles on the table and medium lighting with easy listening music. Afterwards, a drive to a close city park with a lake and walking area with benches where we could relax and get to know each other even better. After this I think a late movie would be nice, a comedy would be fun and then a couple of nightcaps at a local tavern before taking her home and hopefully earning the chance to see her again.

Depends on the level of previous involvement.
I met them at the zoo, we had a chance to walk and talk without having to entertain each other. Also, the zoo wasn't loud like a bar, and you don't have to worry about what you order, how much dinner is etc. until later. Also good to have lots of people around.
You WILL know a lot about someone you meet online if you have spent enough time getting to know them. More so than someone you've dragged home from a bar.

id bring her some flowers to start with, wildflowers, and then if it is in the west coast, and drive along the beach, to a remote area which id have already set up with a dinning table, over looking the coast moon light, where we would have a candle light dinner of fruits, cheeses, salami, crab, shrimp and crackers, some wine,if in the eastern regions,id have and sleigh ride setup for us to go on,and then and ride to a little cabin in the pines were we will sit by the fire after a hearty home made beef stew with dark bread , have some hot apple cider.till the cinders go low! then id take her home!

I would invite out for drinks, just like any other first date. Maybe go to a fancy hotel bar, so you have other options of places to go afterward.
