I am friends since 5th grade (I'm 22 now) with a guy who everyone thought was gay all of the way through high school graduation. Joke was on all of them... the girls LOVE him. He is a great, sincere guy. I know its hard to get through school... but try not to worry too much about the idiots that dont have anything intelligent to say. In the real world, they get crushed.

Congratulations, you have entered the first phase of kids your own age being twits. I'd like to tell you that it doesn't last long, but for some of them it lasts through high school, into college and even into the work place.
You have no obligation to prove anything to anyone. You are 12 years old, and you can't change what people think. Even if you went out and had sex, it wouldn't change a thing. Kids say things to be vicious, and reality has nothing to do with it.
You can either ignore it, which isn't going to be easy. Deny it, which they aren't going to believe. Or come up with some witty line like, to people of the same gender, "If I were gay and you were my only choice, I'd become instantly straight." To members of the opposite gender say, "If this is your way of trying to get my attention, you may want to try not being a jerk. It would improve your chances in the future." One of my stock answer as a kid to any bullying (and that's what this is) was, "Gee. How mature and insightful you are." delivered with no inflection and just a raise of my eyebrows. It's called sarcasm, and it can work wonders.
The reality is, until they find someone new to pick on, you're going to be their target.
I had a friend in high school who encouraged all the girls to think he was gay, because then they became friends with him..which he then used to his advantage. He said as the "official gay guy", he ended up getting more action than the captain of the football team, because all the girls wanted to be the one to show him what he was missing. I wouldn't go that far, but I wanted to let you know you aren't the first one, and you won't be the last.
Do not let this hurt you. If you can't deal with it, talk to your parents, a counselor, someone. Your school should have a zero tolerance policy on bullying. If they don't, they need to.
Good luck, hon. Too many kids are just vicious twits. They always have been.

7th grade? Sorry you're having trouble, but you don't have to prove anything to anyone. Be however you want to be and find friends who appreciate you for who you are. It's hard when people start saying things that aren't true about you, but next year they'll have someone else to pick on and leave you alone.
Good luck! Just be you.

ya dont feel the need to prove anything to anyone. my friend made fun of me because they thought i was gay cuz i didnt have an interest in girls around the age of 17-18. Now i get more girls then they could ever imagine and they beg me to go out with them. Just be confortable with yourself and dont worry about what anyone else thinks, it will all wourk out in the end.

You don't have to prove anything to anyone just be yourself. Kids your age normally tease a lot just ignore them and focus on your studies. The more attention you give your classmates the more they will tease you. Don't resort to there level of ignorance and calling each other names because it doesn't resolve anything might lead to you becoming physical or getting expelled from school. Keep your cool and never let them see you sweat.

it takes balls to do what am i about to say but if you did it, you would be a legend, trust me.
Tell everyone you are gay... then nail all the girls that come by trying to change you! It will confuse all the other guys and then u can eventually admit you pretended to be gay to shut them up and get some chicks!

Are they going around and saying that you're gay because you're effiminate?
There isnt' really much you can do here. People believe what they want. It might help if you started asking girls out, but only if you're up for that.
Ignore them. They're going to be idiots for at least another 3 years.

1) Even if you were gay there is nothing wrong with that and people shouldn't care wether you were or aren't.
2)Just be yourself and be the 100% Real you. Proving yourself to somebody is not worth your time because, you know what you are and that is what truely matters. It doesnt matter what other people think about you or what other peoplr think you are...All that matters is that you know who the real you is. YOU DONT HAVE TO PROVE YOURSELF TO ANYONE!!!!

If everyone thinks you're gay, try having a more manly posture, wearing similar clothes to the other guys, etc...
Ultimately you don't have to prove anything to anyone though.

i was about to give you the whole "don't worry about what other people think lecture", but i know that i hate those lectures myself (even though it's true). so all i can tell you is to pay it no mind, or get a girlfriend (if you're aloud to have one).
P.S, i'm in 7th grade too
