Cadillacs have been way ahead of the pack when it comes to inovation and technology. To make a point:
Turn the key on and leave engine off. Press the off and warmer buttons on the A/C control panel for 5 seconds. Watch as the vehicle checks all the systems for diagnostic trouble codes. Write any codes down. Post an update to your question with the codes listed.
An educated guess tells me you will find a TCC slip code

The reason the check engine light comes on is you do not have enough antifreeze circulating through your engine. This is causing to motor to heat up beyond normal operating temperature. So when you slow down the motor doesn't run as fast allowing for the antifreeze to circulate normally.

Check your antifreeze overflow tank to see if you have antifreeze in it. If you don't top it up and see what happens. If it keeps losing antifreeze then you have a small leak or a head gasket going. If there is antifreeze you need to check the thermstat. Or just replace it with a new one.

I am also guessing there is a clutch fan on the engine(engine fan spins freely with motor not running). If this is the case it might not be spinnig fast enough at that speed causing your car to overheat and the check engine light to come on. You will need to have a professional to check this out.

Hope this helps you out

It is something in the emissions system. Have the codes read. You could put a piece of electrical tape over the light so it wouldn't be annoying.
