Again, we have proof texting. Jesus is telling people what the cost of discipleship is. He is saying that God has to come first and He's using examples. It's tough being a serious Christian and there is a price to pay. Jesus was saying there are no padded crosses.

As a Christian i think interior the trinity made up from the daddy, Son and Holy Spirit and that they are thoroughly separate beings yet a hundred% God and that i don't advise there is 3 God's there is just one yet i don't think of we as people can or are meant to comprehend it yet as for the Holy Spirit it says that once you alter into stored via faith in Jesus Christ that the Holy Spirit is residing on your physique and have faith me it is literal not metaphorical because of the fact I surely have experienced the super potential of the Holy Spirit in my existence

this scripture is describing the cost of being a disciple, jesus is telling them god comes first, this goes along with the commandment Thou shalt have no other god before me. We as christians HAVE to put god first, even before our family, and in return God will bestow upon us his love, which is the greatest love anyone could every experience. The reason why you do not understand this scripture, is because you do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ and the holy ghost. The holy ghost helps us to understand scriptures, and apply to our own lives. It says in Mark 4:24-29 "take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you THAT HEAR shall more be given" you can only understand the scriptures that meet your understanding/faith/level of christianity. but when you do not have a relationship with jesus christ you cannot begin to understand the true meaning of the scriptures, that is why you do not understand what the scripture above is saying, and falsely accuse christians of something that isnt true. you know, i wouldnt have taken the time to look up this scripture for you to hear, or write as much as i am if i did not care about you hearing the truth. you are in my prayers.
"We are fools for christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong, ye are honourable, but we are despised" I Corinthians 4:10

There's another similiar one there which is better. The difference is he says 'anyone who loves a mother a father or a brother or sister more than I, is not worthy of me and shall not enter heaven' or something, I can't rememember the exact wording. He also said
'It is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter heaven'
So unless the christians are giving away all their money as well as loving their families less than an invisible man who they have never met they ain't going to get to heaven!

That scripture doesn't mean what some make it out to mean.
The word hate must be studied out and in this scripture it is to be willing to obey God in any circumstances and postpone in love.
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Context, Context, Context.
The enemy delights in having people misquote and misuse scripture to try and disprove the absolute reliability of the Bible.

Hate did not mean to bear ill will, but to choose Christ over all others.
Personal discipleship and commitment to Jesus means to understand and accept forsaking all selfish personal ambition.

That's a mistranslation: the priest at my church said it is supposed to be, "Whoever loves his mother, father, wife, children, brothers, or sisters more than me is not worthy to be my disciple."
