It might be more useful to investigate whether magic spells and such actually work before you dive into the particulars. Look for actual, concrete, repeatable, verifiable evidence that magic can do anything. Good luck with your quest but be advised that nobody has found such evidence yet.

The best way to do this is to type in "wicca spells" or "witchcraft spells" on a search engine. There are alot of sites out there with spell lists on them.
Yahoo also has a few good groups for people to share information with.

Unless you understand the theoretical underpinning behind doing magic, I'm afraid you won't get very far. Just lighting a candle and saying a spell you got from a book or a website isn't going to be effective, and in fact could backfire quite badly.
If you're going to do something like that, your best bet is to talk to someone with some experience before starting out. lunartic5 has already offered to give you advice, and you can email me if you like as well.
