I would suggest you get on a site that lets you search for listings near your area. Make sure you do your research on everything relating to the car, such as looks, mileage, miles per gallon, space, features, safety ratings, etc. Remember that a four-door is called a sedan.

-Sites for finding automobile listings near your area:

-Site for looking at a car's Fuel Economy:

i own a repair shop, and i see what most people don't see the bad side of any car, there isn't a brand or make or model of car that wont tear up,or break down,so the old saying the best, you can throw that away, the one car i haven't had to do a whole lot of repairs to is a Nissan, and they still give problems, but not like the other ones do,but all of them even rolls Royce break down, and give problems,so these days you have to choose from the ones that give the least amount of problems,,there's a few that don't,some Chevy,s ,Nissan's ,some Toyota,a,and some other foreign and American made, but i get to see the bad side of any car,and that's when you have to pay the repair bill on it,good luck,i hope this help,s.

American brands. Sure toyota or honda is nice if you want a tiny car, with a weak engine that can only hold 3.5 people.

Check out the Chrysler 300 SRT-8, a huge, comfortable car, with 425 HP. I'd like to see a honda accord do that

To answer both of your questions, I agree with prior answer to buy Toyota, altho Hondas are equally good. Nissan not so much.
Best source consistently is CraigsList.org. There is a local chapter in every city, it just means you are dealing mostly with private sellers, but you can haggle for a much better deal than with dealers. It is a fine source to research the current asking prices and what you can expect for your $$$.
Edmunds and CarFax are commercial- huge selection, but hard to check around, as most sellers are cross-country. Google for Used Cars to find local dealers and their locations.

Just some info I thought I'd pass along. I just received my Annual Auto Issue of Consumer Reports. If your looking for a new car, here's the latest.

Based on average reliability

In order from best to worst
Toyota
Honda
Scion
Acura
Lexus
Subaru
Hyundai
Infinity
Mitsubishi
Mercury
Mazda
the rest are considered below average reliability

Edmunds.com, but I'll save you the trouble:

Nissan Maxima
Acura TL
Honda Accord
Nissan Altima
Subaru Legacy
Hyundai Sonata

The guy above with no name left out many valid manufacturers from his Consumer Reports article and misstated where "average" fell. Maybe that's why he has no name... he's too sloppy to remember.

The website you're looking for is:

http://www.edmunds.com
http://www.nada.com
http://www.kbb.com

All these websites will have reviews and consumer reports of cars.

Don't drown in all the answers you're going to get here with "Honda" and "Toyota" names being thrown around.
