My bet is on Christians. Imagine how depressing it would be to be told that you are an imperfect disappointment to your creator and that you will never live up to his expectations of perfection?

buttercup: I am an atheist, I am not depressed, I don't drink and I've never done drugs. Seems like you are one of the atheist-hate mongerers. Am I correct?

If Christians abide in Christ, forgive others and remain in faith, they aren't depressed. Depression happens to a Christian when Christian gets into unforgiveness, believes the lies of the devil, and loses faith in Christ that God loves that person (doubt).
Atheist will be depressed much, because they reject Gods love & truth & turn to something else to fill the void in their life (like alcohol).

Hmm, I'm not sure. Perhaps atheists, but I don't know. I've only met a few who suffered from depression. I've also met very few Christians who suffered from depression.
I'd be interested to know.
And by the way, I don't feel that I AM a disappointment to our creator. I know that God understands that no one is perfect.

I like how naieve you are, it humours me. I dont see why you find the need to corelate a medical condition to religion. Imagine a world without purpose and direction. Is this not just as depressing. It is for me and I'm neither christian or atheist, I just dont see your point thats all. Whats with the name holmes? If you're an atheist who is there to be afraid of you.

Studies seem to indicate Atheists are more likely to suffer from depression. Not living up to God'sexpectations is universal and expected in Christianity. Not living up to your own expectations is harder to take.

For an Atheist that is so proud of their gray matter, I thought you would know that depression is a chemical imbalance of the brain where their serotonin aint quite cutin' the mustard. This can happen to anyone

Depends on your definition of a Christian, I bet some would believe if they are depressed it is because they don't believe enough therefore not christian in their eyes. By that making no Christian ever depressed.

I'm afraid the answer is athiests. Christians may be full of crap, but at least they are somehow able to beleive that there is life after death. The prospect of death being the end is not a very fullfilling one. But it's the truth.

I think Atheists. Christians can pray to god for their problems to be fixed and atheists can't. My old priest (who died of Leukemia) had a quote "Life faithlesness renders life meaningless". I beleive this quote is correct because my religion helps me with any problems i have and i could not think of what it's like to be atheist. Christians beleive they go to Heaven after they die and atheists don't. In addition we aren't a dissapointment to our creator because he loves us ALL even Satan and all the demons. With God everything will always be okay and his kingdom shall have no end.

my guess would be atheists. Because christians are told that the Lord will " perfect in them" his ways and that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit will give them hope. When things go bad for anatheist they have nobody to turn to.

Of course you would bet on Christians because you are an atheist. Many atheists die of depression without believing that they are sick.
