What if you are not "lost" to begin with?

Who says you are "lost" and need to be "saved"? Could it be the very same people who want to sell you "salvation"? Hmmmm.

When Ralph Waldo Emerson was dying, someone asked him: Have you made your peace with God?

He replied: God and I have never quarreled.

That's classy. A man at peace.

So, then, what is required for salvation? The prime requirement is the one that the apostle Paul stated to the Philippian jailer: “Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will get saved.” (Acts 16:31) Heartfelt acceptance of the shed blood of Jesus is essential if we are going to be saved. And what will salvation mean for us? Jesus indicated the answer when he said: “I give them everlasting life, and they will by no means ever be destroyed.” (John 10:28) For most, salvation will mean everlasting life on an earth restored to paradisaic perfection. (Psalm 37:10, 11; Revelation 21:3, 4) In the case of a “little flock,” however, it will mean ruling with Jesus in his heavenly Kingdom.—Luke 12:32; Revelation 5:9, 10; 20:4.
Some suggest that belief in Jesus is the end of the matter. “There is just one thing that any one needs to do to get to heaven,” says one religious tract. “That is, to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, surrender to Him as Lord and Master, and openly confess Him as such before the world.” Thus, many believe that a sudden, emotional conversion experience is all we need in order to guarantee everlasting life. However, to concentrate on only one essential requirement for salvation to the exclusion of the others is like reading one crucial clause in a contract and ignoring the rest.
This becomes more evident when we

If you believe what the Bible says, then the answer is yes. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." We are all born into this world of sin (Psalms 51:5 - Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me." ) Romans 3:10 also tells us that there is none righteous, no not one. God is not responsible for our being born into sin. Hell was not created for humans, but rather for the devil and his angels. God wants to save us and give us a better life. Perhaps you've tried everything else, Why not try Jesus?

For more information, search these verses in the Bible:

How sin came into the world - Romans 5:12
What happens if we continue in sin - Romans 6:23a
How God displayed His love for us - Romans 5:8; Romans 6:23b
How to be saved - Romans 10:9-10, 13

May God bless you!

Each one of us have fallen short of God's standard.
We all need to be saved.
Nevermind Ralph Emersons dying words, he was just a mortal man, and he is now lost eternally. Take God at His Word, infinite God, who sent His Son Jesus Christ to take the punishment which you and I deserved. Thank Him for dying for you, repent from your sin, and give your life to God.

Well Jesus did say metaphorically that those who are sick need a physician and not those who are well, meaning that those who are righteous don't need saving but those who are not righteous need saving. I can't imagine anyone being righteous on their own though.

everyone dies. You will die. If you want to die you do not need to be saved. Death is forever and you are aware of it forever. If you want life and you want it to be better than you ever dreamed, then you will want to be saved.
