If God has the power to perform miracles (Heck, he apparently created an entire universe) then why can't he stop bad things from happening?
Surely he has control over his own creations? Was free will God's greatest mistake?
Where is he when children are being raped? Why is it that we protect Him by putting the blame on the rapists? They were created by God and so He should be responsible!

How can he be Perfect when he can't even control his own creations?

God does not interfere with our free will.He does not control us. Bad things happen because of choices we make. Good things happen because of choices we make.

It's not about controlling us. He could control each word that came out of your mouth or each step you take if He so chose to, but He gave us free will. Why should He be responsible for some idiot raping someone? God gave them a brain and a conscience to know better and we have a mind of our own and we know what is right or wrong and trust me, we will be held responsible for what we do on earth! How can you say God should be responsible? I have 2 sons. I raise them right and teach them good things, but if they turn away from that do do bad things, should I be held responsible? I should hope not! We know what to do and what not to do, and if people go against that, then it is on their shoulders, not God's. He created only good things. People are the ones out here acting completely stupid and doing bad things! God hates the bad things happening and yes He could stop it, but there is a purpose. We son't understand, but there is a purpose. People doing bad things will be held accountable for them some day. God will be a judging God and He will see to it that people pay for what they do. He lived on this earth before He was crucified and didn't go around raping or killing and He gave everyone on this earth enough sense not to either.

You have a hidden premise in your logic, and that premise is false.

If God can do miracles then He is all powerful
If He doesn't do miracles in a given situation then it only means He is unable to step in and fix evil

It is not the case that if God doesn't step in and fix a bad situation that He is unable to do so.
Therefore there MUST be another reason that is not listed here.
That reason is clearly laid out in the Bible.
Here is an answer I gave before that answers your question.
If God can create anything and He is good, then He wouldn't want bad things to happen. If God is good, and he can stop bad things from happening, He Should. So if God doesn't do this He lacks vision and the power to limit evil.

Here's the answer. God did create the world, and God is good, But the reason God doesn't step in and fix evil has nothing to do with His power. It has to do with His love for mankind. When God created man, He gave man a choice to choose to love God or love something else. There are natural consequences for each choice. Man, in Genesis, chose self and the evil we see in the world is a natural consequence of that choice. But God, in His love for mankind sent Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for man's choice. Man can go to heaven if he chooses to accept the sacrifice Christ made on his behalf. If he chooses not to do that, he is on his own. His choice. God is not willing that anyone should perish, so He is waiting until all have an opportunity to choose. When that time is over, He will divide those who want Him from those who do not. Evil is here because of man, not God, God is grieved by the evil He sees...but man has made his choice

He can control everything but he has given us free will to do whatever we want to. He does cause good things to happen because his nature is good. We cause all the bad things to happen. God does not make one person kill or harm another but those people do it on their own and God only allowed it. He allows it the same way he allows us to do good things. If he allowed us to only do good we would not have total free will and we would be like robots not able to make our own decisions. That's why we are on earth to exercise free will and to learn to do the right thing with it and not abuse it.

He tells us in the bible not to do things like murder and lie and he gives each of us a conscience to tell us right from wrong. The only way bad things can be prevented is if we or someone else prays for it. That's just the way it is. Every time someone does something wrong God knows they're going to do it but he is bound by his own word to give us free will on this earth. He always uses the bad things we do to turn it around and makes something good out of it. We can't always see it but he knows what he is doing. He is not responsible because he gave us the freedom to make our own decisions, good or bad. Jesus will come to earth again one day to put an end to our way of doing things and put an end to death and suffering of every kind.

I simply say Christians have to pick one or the other - (1) he does meddle in our lives, or (2) he doesn't meddle in our lives.

If you choose (1) then you can have miracles, all good things that happen to use are to the credit of God, etc. BUT you also have to concede that he meddles with the bad to, or has the ability to interfere and doesn't.

If you choose (2) (more logical) then you don't get miracles, you can't give God credit when good things happen, but rather must accept that things happen or they don't, but no matter what God isn't part of it. This option keeps the blame off of God's shoulders for bad things (i.e. rape) but also negates the existence of so-called miracles of God.

would you want to be a meat puppet?

God doesn't manipulate people. If something good happens, it's a consequence. if something bad happens, it's a consequence. God intervenes, blessing whom He wills, and judging those who deserve it (basically, people who have made a place morally devoid for an unbearably long time, like Soddom and Gomorrah).

where is He when children are raped? wanting permission (for lack of a better term). Even God has rules to follow.

Believe me God has more control over things than you want to believe.

He is in control. He allows a lot of good and a lot of bad. God is God no matter what you think of Him.

His promises are kind. Our home is not here. If we suffer here, He has the whole eternity to make it up to us.
