I recently got Acuvue Oasys contact lenses. I was wondering if I want on vacation where there was a beach or pool, would I have to remove my lenses to go swimming. If not, would I be able to dive with goggles and contact lenses on? My next question is: If I am on a road trip and decided to take a nap in the back seat, do I need to remove my contact lenses? Thanks for the help.

You should wear goggles when swimming. Infection is the major risk of getting pool water on your contact lenses. Typical water-borne infections like pseudomonas or acanthamoeba can be blinding.
Napping for a couple hours is fine, especially in the newer high oxygen permeability lenses like the Acuvue Oasys.

I wear Acuvue contact leans and I don't take mine out to go swimming in the lake or pool, I don't don't know about the beach.
Also I don't take them out when I take a nap during the day but I don't sleep in them all night.

In my experience: swimming with them is definitely not possible, they will just float out of your eyes.
Swimming with contacts and goggles is fine.
You can certainly nap with them in, but I'd advise having some eye drops with you because they can be very dry and painful when you wake up. Be sure to buy eye drops that specifically state on the bottle that they are for contact lens wearers.

My husband has contacts and he swims with his with no problems. Yes put goggles on and dive away.. You can wear them if you take a nap but dont leave them in for a long nap my husband says its like ripping your eye out when he takes long naps cause they dry out.

swimming : with goggles on it should be ok, w/o goggles u risk looseing the contacts in the water, if ur vision isnt too bad id say just take them out, if ur vision is bad id say bring extra pairs in case u loose one in the water. napping will probably be ok for under 3 hrs. bring eye drops to re wet ur eyes after u wake up.

Technically, you should take out contacts to sleep. But I can leave contacts in for 2-3 hours sleeping without having them bother me. For swimming, they might get lost very easily in the water.
