In Texas the 3rd DWI is a Felony. Anyone can make a mistake. Some people make 2. But if you get 3 DWI's you're and idiot and you have a drinking problem. You definitely dont need to be driving.

In Missouri, it's a Felony charge (DWI Persistent Offender).

Up to three years or so in jail, and a hefty fine.

It all depends of where you are charged with the offense.
In several states is a felony.
In Texas is a state jail felony punishable with imprisonment up to 5 yrs and/or a fine of $2000.00
Possible loss of your Driver's License

In NJ it is a traffic infraction, 10 years loss of license , you will have to go to rehab for 30 days, , 30 days of out patiant 265 days community service, $3000 insurance surcharge for 3 years and a $2000 fine, I think It may have changed.
