it is from a windows disc that came with the computer but i lost the sticker that had the product code on it. can someone lend me one?

No, MS now tracks licenses, and if it shows up in multiple places, they will disable it so it cannot be patched in the future. Contact the seller, or Microsoft for your options.

No, you can't get someone else's product code because of the fact that each copy of a specific software has a different product code on it. If you lost the key, then you might have to either run a scan for the code or get a new code by buying the software again.

contact your retailer or download OpenOffice.org for free. It has Writer (MS Word), Calc (MS Excel), Impress (MS PowerPoint), Base (MS Access), Draw and Math.
