I dont think it is of any importance, what other people think you are doing, as long as you know you arent doing it, thats what matters. If his wife is cheating on him as you think she is, it would only be her own insecurities that are making her think that he is doing the same, if your husband is ok, with the two of you being freinds, then i say go for it, do what you think in your own heart is right.
