Fillings are definatly not that bad. They're really quick and easy.

First they numb you, and that's like the worst part. You feel the needle pretty easily, but it's so fast you don't even realize it. Then your mouth starts getting really really numb.

Then after a while they drill a hole in the tooth and get all the decay out and stuff, then put some filling in there.

Then you're all done.

It's really easy and quick. I've had tons of them...I'm not fortunate with perfect teeth.

Dentistry has come a long way!
You can ask for nitrous oxide , but be prepared to pay a lot more!
The assistant will get a q tip and put this cherry flavored paste at the site of which you will get the injection.
The doctor will shake your cheek as he is injecting the Novocaine...this will distract you of the Novocaine going into the nerves. It's not as bad as one might think...like a little pinch!
Then the doctor will check your mouth to see if it is numbed up.
Once that is done, he will drill out the decay and fill it with dental material. The lidocaine they use to numb u up will last for hours!

At the office where i work the dr usually rubs a little cherry flavored topical which will numb it just a bit, then he will give an injection near the tooth he will be filling.it only hurts a couple of seconds because it becomes really numb after that.then with a drill he will drill out the cavity and place the filling in.either amalgam or composite filling which is tooth colored.that is usually about all that is done it is simple but something most people dread.just keep in mind it dosent take very long.
