churches are assemblies, not temples. Your family can be your church (assembly). One thing to remember is that it's not a social club, it's a place to share your love for the God you actually have a relationship with, not for hypocrites who only say God exists. Unfortunately there are many of those.

I think religious people place more emphasis on attending church than God does. Jesus was not very religious at all but he was very spiritual. Church is good to worship God through singing and for hearing the gospel preached. Church is good for someone who is trying to get saved or for those who already are. Going to church will not save you though and it's not necessarily wrong to not go. I personally don't go that often because I feel that I don't learn that much anymore because I study the bible a lot on my own and I watch TBN all the time. I learn so much more from TBN than I do in my own church but that's my opinion.

It says in scripture that we should not forsake the coming together of believers- church does not save, but once saved it helps you grow in your walk and become mature in your faith. If Churches are what God wants them to be there will be a place where people come together to share, and to grow and learn how to help others along this road called life. The greatest commandments are love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself. We learn to love God in community and in turn love people- which is why church is important. Being saved is the first step then growth and maturity come.

It is important. It is in fact a sin not to attend on Sunday in the Catholic Church if you do not have a good valid reason. The Church knows human nature very well and she knows that human nature will try to get away with whatever it can. If you say you do not have to go to church, people will not go. Catholics receive the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus at Mass anyway. There are people that get up at 3:00 in the morning in South America and walk to the church to be there for Mass so they can receive Jesus. We are lazy and ungrateful. There is a reason that the Jews were to receive their Passover Meal in Egypt all gird about the waist and with their traveling garments on and their shoes on their feet. It hinted to us that we were not to remain at home for this meal.

To please God, you must reject false worship and take a stand for true worship. What does this include? The Bible states: “Let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24, 25)
Christian meetings are happy occasions for you to worship God in the way that he approves. (Psalm 22:22; 122:1) At such meetings, there is “an interchange of encouragement” among faithful Christians.—Romans 1:12.

Churches exist because Jesus started His church thru Peter. Going to church is important. It helps you to be part of the community of believers that share the same beliefs you do. You practice your faith, even tho this can be done anywhere. I love going to Mass. I feel in such communion with all the people and with the Lord

Fear. Fear of the unknown, fear that they will die and there will be no after life. Rather than just live life, making choices and decisions based on what they know is decent, they feel it's necessary to refer alway to their 'churches teachings'. Maybe it just makes them feel safe or gives them hope of some sort of something after death.
Living life as a good person has always been simple it is the churches who make it seem complicated.

Churches exist as a place to learn. In the original church there were many speakers, not just a minister.

Set fire to a single piece of wood, and it's likely to go out. But put that piece in with several other burning brands, and they will all continue to burn. It's the same with faith. Alone, our faith can grow cold. But when we gather together, we keep each other 'warm'. And maintaining our faith is an important aspect of the Christian walk.

You can get saved in your bedroom...I did. 4 real. wow...what an experience.
But I had been seeking God for 3 weeks...everyday in my living room. asking Him if he were real and reading the bible...and He started blowing my mind...with what I was reading...He WAS
talking to ME...right then and right there God was talking to ME...little me.
I found out though...
The Church is the gateway...to heaven.
