The first way i know when grape jelly is spoiled is the jelly will turn brown and smell like wet dog.Second way i know is the jelly with start getting hard like wood but the inside it will be hollow. Third and final way you know is if you make a PB&J sandwich with the spoiled jelly and the sandwhich eats you.

If it gets a bad smell or has mold on it. But actually my grandma used to scoop out the mold off the top of jelly and eat it anyway.

Don't believe you're in much danger there. About the only thing it will do is break down and get rather watery. Try to worry about something else.

You 'll know its bad when it smells like vinager. This can be triggered when its not sealed propperly.

But when in doubt, throw it out.
