I've been told that there are Catholic convents (?) that take overnight lodgers. How does one find them?

I would call the Diocesan Office (Chancery) for the area in which you are looking and ask there. You might also look up "retreat centers."

You would have to call your local Catholic Church and see if they could provide you with a list of convents in the area your interested in. You would have to call the convent individually because some do and some don't and the ones that do only take a single woman (they can be married but, they do not accept men) and only for a couple of days at that. Each one is different so -- best of luck.
