Most new build work can be priced.. However a refurbishment of your existing bathroom, would be best on a daily rate @£120 a day, No tradesman has a Crystal ball, and should be able to sort out any hidden problems as and when they arise.

Builders charge by the by day not the hour from what you are saying you need a builder plumber and a sparks you would be looking at £1000 to £1500 for the refit of your bath room

Usually a job like that is done on a contract , not paid per hour.Probably a job like that it would cost about $1500 to $2000 labour in Canada from a small contractor for the tile work and plumbing.

Ask a builder for a written quote. Most tradesmen charge "by the job" rather than "by the hour".

He will estimate the amount of labour involved and provide a quote. Make sure, though, it is a quote (which cannot be changed without unforseen problems) rather than an estimate (which can be changed without justification).

Get 3 quotes for the job and ask for, and check up on, references.

The cheapest quote isn't always the best way to go.

Oh, and let them know it is up for tender...
