I honestly think that yeah, God will punish us for wrong doings... He is our Father.... and loves us enough to teach us thru tough lessons. Just as we punish our kids for doing things against our rules, God does so as well... and I fully expect him to help me learn ...even if it is thru trials or pain or whatever. Don't allow satan to tell you that you cannot live without whatever sin has you in bondage. with Christ, all things are possible. Find an accountability partner so tthey can lift you up in prayer and be someone that you can call when temptation gets too great.
I just pray that God strengthens me to endure what is to come.

To sin you have to give in to temptation. Now James 1:13-15 kicks in.
We will face trials. Again, James 1:2-3 It's a plain and simple fact. We are not any more privileged than our forefathers in the faith. They went through fire. We today have it super easy...for now.
I think you need to pursue why you seem to constantly fall into sin. If you knowingly sin there is no longer a sacrifice. Heb 10:26.
But if your heart is in the right place then 1 John 2 is a good chapter to read. Remember, sin can not be tolerated by God. It is why we're in the position we are in today. Also remember you can not hide your desires or intentions from God. It's why David could actually kill a man yet still be called a man after God's heart. God sees the heart whereas we can't.

God isn't the only punishing you. You punish your self once you're making adverse or unloving alternatives. The negativity continuously reasons a painful backlash it is meant to coach you that another determination could be a extra suited concept next time. This mechanism is self-regulating and outfitted into Gods plan for us. asserting that God is the only doing this is heading off the indisputable fact that we are those making the strategies that create the adverse consequence. The devil is a fable made as much as scare little young little ones into being stable. regrettably some human beings in no way grew up adequate to determine this out. You’re smarter than this or you may desire to in no way have asked this question. forget the devil and assume accountability to your very own strikes. Love and advantages

The bible says it rains on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45). That means bad things happen to us all whether we sin or not.
Do, I think God sits in Heaven and zaps people with bad things because they fall short? Definately not. God is a God of love. He is like a parent to us. He is disappointed when we do wrong and I think it breaks His heart to see us go through things. He created us, He died for us knowing all along that we are going to sin and He chose to do it anyway because He loves us so much. He doesn't want you to to sin and I am not upholding sin especially if you know it is wrong, that would be something if you are concerned about, pray that He helps you through it. I believe He will allow things to get our attention sometimes, but as far as punishing us just because we do wrong, I don't believe that at all. He is a God of love and mercy. He would be a mean God if He put bad things on us for being the human beings he created. Hope this helps! God bless.

I don't think God punishes us right now if we sin. In the end though, we will be judge. I don't think God puts health problems on us. He loves us to much. But try to do right by God. Repent of your sin, and try not to do it anymore. I know easier said then done. I'm going through a similar situation.

you are what you eat, only you can change your life to what you want it to be! I think these are a couple of sentences that will clearly state that we are responsible for our own actions! I don't think we are being punished!
and should you do something sinful knowingly so , that just shows a lack of character and things will come back to you eventually!
I think that's just how life is!

Hebrews 12 says do not detest the Lords rebuke for every father who loves his son disiplines him and though disipline dosnt seem pleasent at the time it produces a fruitful harvest or something to thet affect. But not every bad thing that happens to you is punishment.

To get material body is already punishment. As soon you take birth, you are in the grip of the laws of material nature, old age, disease and death. Therefore to be born is punishment. We are punished by mother nature, under the direction of the Supreme Lord.

God is like any good parent who disciplines their children when they are heading the wrong way. At first, He convicts us of the wrong that we are doing, and if that doesn't get our attention, then He nudges us to stop for our good. If that doesn't get our attention He uses what ever means that would get our attention and redirect us into the right way. It all has to do with love. But this is not for everyone, it is only for His children, who believes in Him.

I'll go with your assumption that God exists. To further this exercise, I'll assume you mean the Christian god (which is kind of vague, but I'll go with common conceptions).
God clearly does not punish people in this lifetime. Many horrible people life happy lives and are free to commit their sins. Many virtuous people live miserable lives and have no relief. If God rewards or punishes people here and now, then these situations would not happen. So, obviously, God does not act on what we do today.
The common conception is that God punishes those after they die. This punishment is in the form of eternity in Hell. Technically, it's not a punishment, since someone in Hell cannot change his lifestyle; it is simply torture. But that is a different topic.
The common conception is that God allows people who don't believe in him to go to Hell. This includes children, the invalid, and the ignorant. This goes counter to another common conception that God is loving. A loving god would never allow people to suffer eternally in Hell. He would do everything in his power to prevent them from suffering that fate. So, either a god is loving enough to not punish anyone by sending them to Hell, or a god is not loving and sends people to Hell--which is not technically a punishment since there is no behavior modification.
So, short answer: God does not punish us. I hope the reasons are clear enough.
