Hope this helps, Meditation is to quieten the mind of thoughts so as the energy in the brain is conserved and the true potential of you mind is awakened, the natural state of your mind is joyous and loving , like that of a small child. To become aware of your thoughts and realising how your mind is always wondering of to senseless thinking is the first step, then you simply strat to observe that this wasting of energy is not required so let me end this , from here on be yourself and do whats needed to stop thoughts and youll dicscover for yourself how to deal with them, just remember no THOUGHTS.

if you really wanted to hear a bunch of different meditative techniques of course you could just type meditate or yoga into google... but what i personally suggest to you is that you dont spend too much time reading about how to meditate or do yoga, experiment for yourself first, all you have to do to meditate is sit there and breath, dont think about if "am doing it right" or "is this working" or "i keep thinking of different things"... just sit there and breath, there is not right way to do it, so long as you just sit there and breath, and do it often.. and of course there are countless articles online, there is no bad meditations, as long as you try you will get results.. good luck to you

Depends on what KIND of meditation you want to do. If you're interested in meditation the Buddhist way... www.buddhanet.net has guided meditations to learn from and the newest issue of "Tricycle" has a 28 day retreat with instructions on meditation, the online version might have the same too, haven't looked it up yet.

One may find the Vedic directions for true meditation in the Sixth Chapter of Bhagavad-gitä, which explains that the goal of meditation is to absorb the mind in Krishna consciousness.

Meditation is about awareness. You can meditate while awake, you know? Just be alert of your actions and rid your mind of concepts.

in case you think interior the Bible, then YHWH / YHVH is the tetragrammation. there is not any 'j' sound in it in Hebrew. that could basically come by translating by English. Sound out YHWH and it does sound 'Yahweh'. look interior the preface on your bible which oftentimes will contain translation notes. in case you have an NIV, you will see that by the old testomony, the Tetragrammation (4 letters of the divine call) replaced into replaced by skill of 'LORD' and 'Sovereign Lord'. consistently examine your Preface or translators notes.

First let us understand what MEDITATION is.
MEDITATION or Dhyana is one of the angas (limbs) in the astanga-yoga (eight limbs) process.
The eight limbs are:-
1.yama- means controlling the senses
2.niyama- following strict regulations, rules and regulation
3.asana-sitting postures.
4.pranayama- breathing exercise
5.pratyahara-drive out sense objects such as sound, touch, form, taste and smell
6.dharana- trance, concentration of the mind.;
7.DHYANA- MEDITATION
8.samadhi -being absorbed in Vishnu or Krishna consciousness.
The result of the above process is that the yogi meditates or sees the Supersoul (Paramatma), the plenary portion of Krishna as Vishnu within himself. Krishna is situated as Supersoul in the heart of everyone. It is mentioned that, "As a blazing fire burns everything within a room, Lord Vishnu, situated in the heart of the yogi, burns up all kinds of impurities."
Four different yugas have four different yogas as the process of self realization and God realization. Lord through the revealed holy scriptures and as confirmed by His representatives has given us the process.
1. Satya-yuga -(Dhyana yoga) MEDITATION on Vishnu,
2. Treta-yuga -(Yajna) performing sacrifices,
3. Dvapara-yuga- (Arcana) temple worship
4. Kali-yuga simply by chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra.
HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA
KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE
HARE RAMA HARE RAMA
RAMA RAMA HARE HARE
While other process may work the most effective is chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra as you can see below from the various quotes of the revealed scriptures.
Srimad Bhagavatam(12.3.52),
Whatever result was obtained in Satya-yuga by meditating on Vishnu, in Treta-yuga by performing sacrifices, and in Dvapara-yuga by serving the Lord's lotus feet can be obtained in Kali-yuga simply by chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra.
There are similar verses
Vishnu Purana (6.2.17), Padma Purana (Uttara-khanda 72.25) and e Brihan-naradiya Purana (38.97):
"Whatever is achieved by meditation in Satya-yuga, by the performance of sacrifice in Treta-yuga, and by the worship of Lord Krishna's lotus feet in Dvapara-yuga is obtained in the age of Kali simply by glorifying the name of Lord Kesava."
Brahma-vaivarta Purana also says,
"Thus in the age of Kali the practices of austerity, yoga meditation, Deity worship, sacrifice and so on, along with their various subsidiary functions, are not properly carried out, even by the most expert embodied souls.
