This is a very interesting question. You have to love your father but to be ashamed is perfectly natural. But be loving and caring. If he's your father then you might understand things about him others wouldn't so maybe being ashamed is wrong. Do what your heart feels.

Regardless what he has done or Not done, he is your father. My opinion is that family stick together NO MATTER WHAT!!! Always believe that they are innocent unless they tell you otherwise. Only God knows the exact truth about all of us. And He is the only one that can Judge us in the end, not society. Do not ever be ashamed of who you are. God Bless you and your Dad.
