I believe it is for High Cholestrol but I am not totally sure, however, you should never stop a medication abruptly without first contacting your physician. Also, call your pharmacist and make sure what the medication is for and see if they can tell you if there is a cheaper/generic version. Tell them what the situation is and I am sure they may know of several patient assistance programs to help you all out. Also your physician may know of other programs as well. Also ask your physician if they have samples of this medication that they can provide you with. Many. many pharmaceutical companies provide samples to physicians and sometimes these offices have to throw them away because they expire before they use them, so don't be afraid to ask.

It is for high cholesterol. There are many generics available now that cost less and do much the same thing. Why not talk to the doctor and see about getting a generic drug prescribed.

It's used to treat lipids in the bloodstream. You could be at higher risk for stroke or heart attack due to plaque in the arteries without it.....ask your doctor if there's something cheaper or generic...maybe Lipitor?
