Depends on the background of the person that makes reply as to their answer.

Fact is that both are within scripture and spoken of in a positive. Some don't like to see such - but it is all within scripture.

Something that I have found useful in personal study of scripture is not just reading all the favorite verses that a particular group likes to quote - but read several above and below the verse to get a better understanding. The whole chapter at the least would be better - but the few verses above and below would be an eye opener for many.

I must commend you Aurthur, this is a very good analogy, and the asnwer of course, is that we need both blades. Just we need Both faith which brings for th worsk, in order to be a sucessful member of the Kibngdom of God. great Job!

I think he means good works...you know the kind of stuff you do because you have faith, or the kind of things that feed your faith and help it to grow.

If I have faith that I will be rewarded with Heaven and 72 virgins, I guess I'm cutting with the bomb or the plane. Faith is just the motivator.

Wisdom and altruism are like the two wings of a bird... frankly I prefer these two, which are more logical and accomplish far more, but thanks anyhow.
