Go to a salon, your hair will have to be bleached and then a color deposited on it to get the color you want. I donot suggest you try doing it at home you will end up at a salon trying to get it fixed. and you can damage your hair with to many chemicals.
I am a cosmetologist...

Yes. But i suggest you do it at a hair dressers. I know it will cost more. But its better to be safe than sorry! Oh and you know you can get those hair dyes that only last for like 6 weeks. Try one of those to see which colour you like. Because there are different shades of blonde. So test it first. Thats what i did when i dyed my hair.

Ask a colour technician...

While many horror stories are well founded, this one is not. Most colour disasters are caused by the ABSENCE of red in hair colour, or especially when tinting darker over blonde (no red background pigment)
In your case, there's plenty of red pigment there.
What you may want to consider is golden blonde highlights and deeper red or brown low lights, to add dimension, rather than colouring the entire head.
It has a great natural effect and looks GREAT a red head's skin tones.
See a professional!

There is always a chance with blond hair. I would suggestion temporary hair color spray like you use on Halloween as a test before buying a permanent hair dye product.

ummm just be careful. I have dark auburn hair and tried to dye mine and it turned a freaky orange color. Highlights tend to work best if your doing it at home because it actually bleaches the hair differently than I dye does.

I love it when people tell you to bleach your hair and THEN color it blonde...why would you put blonde on white hair? No, you need, and I emphasize need to go to a salon to have it done. Reds usually take longer to lift because of the underlying pigment...i.e. red/orange....therefore you will not only need a strong LIGHTNER but you will also need to tone it afterwards. But remember your hair will only lift so much and it all depends on how much gunk you have built up on your hair.

I would not recommend doing it yourself, go to a salon. I am a blonde who went to red, loved it. Tried to go back blonde, my natural color, not so good. I ended up going to a salon in tears, thank goodness 6 hrs later, and almost $200. it was fixed. To lighten red hair, is different so go to a professional... Trust me on this one.

Yes you can. Any hair can be dyed any color if done by a professional. I would ask exactly what the process will be and go from there. I would not try it myself.. it might just backfire and you will end up with pink hair...
