Everybody from Michigan knows that Vernor's makes the best Gingerale in the entire world.. well ok if you can find Vernor's Root Beer, I'd buy that too. If you can't find Vernors then A & W is my next pick but Barg's is really a close choice. Dad's is good too but nothing like the first two. If all else fails, Faygo Root Beer is great. (what am I saying? I think I mean its hard to find a bad root beer .. lol lol)

IBC is the best root beer you can buy. It is the kind in a bottle. It has a lot of fizz, and it has the best root beer taste ever!

I've been a fan of "Mug Root Beer" all my life, and I have always assumed it was a national brand. God Bless you.

Hires used to be tops but we can't get it here in Canada anymore - who ever put it down, where do you live??
The best and the one that actually comes closest to Hires is the no name brand from Sobeys - Our Compliments rootbeer.
Too bad Hires doesn't make the do it yourself kits to make your own at home. Now that was the BEST!!

Sprecher's, Souix City and Virgil's are all excellent, not as easy to find as the main brands though.

Saranac is available nationally in limited quantities, but if you live in NY, NJ, MA, it is widely available. It is by far the best rootbeer that I have ever had.
