Im trying to get MBNA to cough up late payment / overlimit fees they charged me. Am using money expert.com and templates they provide. Has anyone had any success with their charges, particularly with MBNA ? Im expecting a major fight, any advice ?

If it gets to court you need to state the reason you think they are exorbitant, which is that they do not reflect 'reasonable' costs to the company to cover the loss incurred by them over your breach of terms. You are not saying that you didnt breach the terms. However this applies to banking regulations, so I would check that these regs also cover credit cards as they arent covered by the same kind of contract as you have with a bank account.
If its ok, go for it. If it gets to court, make sure your case is presented logically point by point and in understandable language (judges like that). But try and use the phrases quoted in the letters you have sent because they are a bit legalistic, but they reflect accurately and concisely what you want to say.

Pay off the debt...or most of it on your card then call,be cool and ask politely to remove the late payment fee...I recently thought i set up payment on line to reoccur..and I didn't hence i was late almost two months before i caught my mistake.I made a major payment and then a few days after they recieved it I called and they were more then happy to remove those late fee's...Give it a shot...
