First off, it's not just married men, it's married women too... As for the reason: in my experience, it's usually because the spouse just isn't doing it for him/her anymore-if ever-and they are seeking to fill the void with someone else who can be more "understanding" and/or accomodating without having to throw away all that has been invested into a marriage. This is especially true when children are involved.
Hey, I'm not justifying it, I'm simply answering the question based on my personal experiences and those of people I know.

I wasn't going to give you the benefit of an answer because people like you who have these "secret relationships", or wish to enter into them--(SOME females too i should add)--whilst married are lower than the lowest things that crawl upon this earth...where are your morals, principals, your scruples and your values?-do you know of the devastation, the hurt and humiliation that you would cause to your family when you get found out? (and you WILL get found out eventually!) It really is no wonder that people like "the b!atch from the bay area" has such a low opinion of all things men!! Just a word or two to the b!atch from the bay concerning YOUR answer to this cretin by the way...not ALL men are like this, and until you have met ALL men-(which you haven't and are never likely to)-please do not tar us all with the same brush...many women have their faults too--yours are spelling and grammar--to name but two.

There are. I think it's because of the openess that there is nowadays.
Its all about self-esteem and ego.
Sometimes in a marriage you take each other for granted (some don't!) and you forget how to compliment each other. So when an outsider shows some attention and or affection it's a realy ego booster and in my opinion human nature.
Not saying it's right - just that yes it certainly goes on.
Probably won't stop until other females stop showing you attention - then you may re-discover your wife - if she's still with you.....

I think secert relationship will get you burned because if you are so in love you should'nt have serects because there should be nothing you should have to hide from the love of your life. Secert relationships leads to secert affairs and broken hearts, so play your cards carefully and you will learn that if you put as much time into your wife your marriage could be a whole lot better because secert realtionships says nothing more then something is missing from your relationship that you are in. Make your wife yourr secert and that will be a turn on to you maye.

Bubba, secret relationships rarely stay that way. I think you are fooling yourself, but hey, go ahead and cheat. That way you'll be saying "What a world" when she takes you to the cleaners and (deservedly) gets at least half of what you own.

Be careful, these 'secret relationships' have a habit of spiralling out of control, with hurt and broken homes all around.Nothing new about this-it's always gone on. It's the thrill of new things I suppose, plus a bit of boredom at home.

The answer is quite simple... you got married too young and haven't "lived" your life to the fullest before settling down. That answer goes for both males and females, no one should really settle down before the age of 30 these days since there's just so much to explore. Note that I'm not saying everyone should go out and do everything that walks, but be selective, and don't settle.

You're probably not in a happy marriage. Sure, all married guys like to look, but genuinely happy ones dont feel the need to act on it.
part of the problem is your age. Ppl in their mid-20's really shouldnt be married... still way too much exposure to the singles lifestyle (bar hopping, happy hours, etc), and chances are your friends are still single too, which adds to the temptation.
