I met this guy at my work and he is new and we started talking and he asked me what kinda music i like and i told him and then i asked him if he had a myspace and he said he did and he wrote down his name for me but i looked him up and couldent find him. and he said that he hopes he will see me again

He probably just likes you as a friend. Society now-a-days convinces us young people that when a guy and girl talk and hang out together, they automatically "like" each other. That is SO not true. Me and one of my good friends (who is a guy) hang out and everybody used to be like "Oooh, you guys have crushes on each other! are you bf/gf?" and we're like NO!
