I mean what do you call it when you but a dead butterfly in a frame. You stick a pin through it or something like that to hold it in place. Here's an example fo one

There's a special name given to it and I was told it when I was younger but now i don't remember. I've put the question into numerous search engines and it's just giving me sites where I can buy them, no matter how i word the question.

well you would put them in a shadowbox so there is enough room. i don't know if there if a more specific term.
